Oliver! at Encores!

As with any Encores! putting a show up in two days feels practically impossible at the start, and wildly satisfying at the end.

This production of Oliver! was no exception to that rule, Lear deBessonet’s ambitious concept seemed daunting at first, incorporating dynamic choreography from Lorin Latarro and the backing of a 21 piece orchestra led by the effervescent Mary-Mitchell Campbell, but everyone was on their A-game and in the end it all came together into a rather large “staged reading”.
