Flamenco Festival 2024

Coming to City Center always feels a little bit like coming home. Unfortunately with the passing of house sound engineer, Augie Propersi a few months ago, it felt like there was a little something missing. Despite that, it was a joy to be back in this beautiful theater as Sound Supervisor for Flamenco Festival 2024. Ballet Nacionale de España was fantastic - 22 ballet dancers play castanets in perfect unison was something I had to hear to believe. The music underlying Olga Pericet’s performance was hands down the best sounding thing I have ever heard at City Center, and honestly one of the best sounding things I’ve heard in the last year, just spectacular. The dynamic work of Gala Flamenco was a joy to watch. Sometimes it’s nice to step back from design a little bit and really engross myself in the work of amazing musicians, dancers, and the fantastic visiting sound mixers.
